Papers of the American clergyman, author. Collection includes correspondence, manuscripts, and personal files; material relating to the American Foundation of Religion and Psychiatry, Guideposts, the Marble Collegiate Church, the Committee on Constitutional Government, family affairs, Peale's magazine and syndicated columns, pastoral counseling, his radio program , and sermons. There is also material about the Kennedy campaign, including discussion of the election of a Roman Catholic, and letters concerning Peale's stand on religious freedom. Peale was licensed and ordained in 1922 by the Methodist Church. He held a pastorate at Marble Collegiate Church in New York City from 1932-1984.
